About AlignCV

Mehmet Kerem Mutlu is a mechanical engineering student at Uludağ University in Bursa, Turkey, and the solo founder of AlignCV.

He started building AlignCV after watching the friction in the job application process up close — friends applying to dozens of roles with the same resume, getting filtered out by automated systems before anyone read their application, piecing together four or five different tools to do what should be one workflow.

The observation was straightforward: the tools existed to do each of these things separately. They didn't exist to do all of them together, in multiple languages, in a way that an actual job seeker could navigate without a manual.

Before building the platform, Kerem consulted with HR professionals and hiring managers to understand how resumes are actually evaluated — both by automated systems and by the people who review what passes through them. Their input shaped the ATS scoring logic, the template design decisions, and the interview question generation methodology. AlignCV isn't built on assumptions about what hiring looks like. It's built on how it actually works.

AlignCV is his attempt to translate that understanding into a tool anyone can use.

Alongside AlignCV, Kerem serves as a team leader at OTAGG (Otonom Araç Geliştirme Grubu), Uludağ University's autonomous vehicle development team, leading the suspension systems department and competing in the Teknofest Robotaksi competition.

The job application process is unnecessarily fragmented.

To apply for a role properly, most candidates need: a resume builder, an ATS checker to verify the resume will pass automated filters, a cover letter tool for each application, some form of interview preparation, and a way to find relevant listings in the first place. These exist as separate products, each with their own account, their own interface, and their own pricing.

For someone applying across multiple countries or in more than one language, the problem is worse — most tools only work in English.

AlignCV started from the question: what if one platform handled all of this, in the languages people actually apply in?
